Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 140, serving boys in grades 1 through 5 in the Hardy and Sprague school districts in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Scouting is a family activity. Our pack assists the growth of each boy through activities that reinforce the parent-son bond and encourage service to others. But ask one of our cub scouts and you'll get a more succinct description - scouting is fun! We typically meet once or twice per month. For more about meetings, see About and About Meetings. See this link for more information about Cub Scouts in general. We hope this website helps you learn about our pack and keep track of our activities. First time visitors will find general information on the About page. Pack events for all grades are listed on the Calendar page. For further info, please email us at

. Quick Overview:
- Boys and their parents from Hardy and Sprague elementary schools in Wellesley, Massachusetts are welcome to join our pack.
- A cub scout den consists of boys in the same grade at school. Together, all the dens make up the cub scout pack.
- Generally we hold two meetings per month, once for the entire pack and once for each den. Most of our meetings emphasize hands-on activities to motivate and capture the interest of the cubscouts. For more info, see About Meetings.
- Other special events are scheduled throughout the year, such as sleepovers at local museums, hikes, and fun community service activities.
- Our pack is run by parent volunteers. We rely on all parents to help create a positive experience for our sons.

Comparing Cub Scouts to Other Activities Some people ask how cub scouting compares to boy scouting. First, because cub scouts are younger, there is less program emphasis on outdoor activities such as camping, although there are certainly several opportunities. Second, cub scouts aren't as independent so aren't expected to run their own meetings or plan their own trips the way boy scouts do. Cub scouting also differs from activities such as organized sports. For example, it's sometimes possible to drop boys off at a Little League game and run an errand. However, cub scout meetings need a greater level of parental involvement. We ask parents to make a point of attending pack and den meetings with their sons, this improves listening skills, safety, and is more fair to the adult volunteer leading the meeting. Similarly, we generally require a parent to attend all field trips with his/her son. 2009-10 Pack Leadership Cub Master:
